The St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital (SABRH) serves the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland. It boasts modern buildings, a neonatal intensive care unit and operating theatres.

The SABRH has approximately three hundred and eight (308) beds and is an accredited training facility and is the Regional Hospital for the North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA).

SABRH is a Type B Hospital and is the referral hospital for the three (3) general hospitals and seventy (70) health centres located in Portland, St. Mary and St. Ann. Cases that cannot be managed in this hospital are referred to a Type A or a specialist hospital such as Cornwall Regional, Kingston Public, The University of the West Indies and Bustamante or Children. The SABRH provides health care services to a population of approximately 360,000 persons.

Support services include housekeeping, portering, a Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), a pharmacy, general stores, chemical stores and maintenance. The Regional Printery and Regional Maintenance Unit (RMU) are located on the hospital grounds.

The hospital has been the Chapter’s Labour Day Project for over 20 years. The facilityis constantly used by our citizens and visitors.

A helipad is near the Accident and Emergency (A & E) Department to facilitate the speedy transfer of patients by helicopter to Kingston-based major hospitals.

Teen Challenge Jamaica is a residential, faith-based rehabilitation program that aims to help individuals suffering from addiction become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive. The program focuses on life transformation and provides a safe space for individuals to confront their destructive choices and unhealthy views. The organization also engages in agricultural activities, such as growing sweet peppers and pigs as well as an egg farm to sustain itself.

Teen Challenge Jamaica is located at 10 Shaw Park Road, Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It offers a range of services to support individuals in their recovery journey, including a Bible-based curriculum, transformation programs, and community service projects. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals overcome life-controlling problems and establish a new under the guidance of Biblical principles.

The White River Fish Sanctuary (WRFS) is dedicated to catalysing change in the wider White River area and is committed to caring for our marine eco-system. Through our “Protect- Restore-Engage” priorities we work to restore our coral reefs, hold those who harm the environment accountable, and educate and engage community members to experience and appreciate marine life within the sanctuary.

The White River Fish Sanctuary is committed to honouring the responsibility we have to care for marine life. Whether it’s through reef restoration, public education or holding those who harm the environment accountable – we are dedicated to change. What started as a collaboration between hoteliers, activists, and local fishermen has transformed into a community of passionate individuals dedicated to preserving our aquatic environment.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the White River Fishermen’s Association (WRFA) and the White River Marine Association (WRMA) were formed. These entities later joined forces to create The White River Fish Sanctuary, which now provides a safe haven for fish to produce millions of offspring in a 150-hectare “no-take” zone. These waters stretch from Prospect Plantation in St. Mary to Carib/Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, providing a secure habitat for aquatic life to thrive.

We came together with a common goal: to help restore marine life, rebuild coral, and safeguard the coastline from the effects of climate change. This endeavour not only benefits the local community but also enhances the experiences of tourists and residents alike. We are eager to forge collaborative partnerships and work together toward our common goals.

Following our motto, “Protect-Restore-Engage”, we strive to protect the sanctuary with the goal of preserving marine life and restoring the livelihoods of the local fishing community.

We’ve been working hard with our partners and community to rehabilitate degraded coral reefs, which is key to achieving the sanctuary’s goal to increase fish stocks in the area .

This has had a ripple effect, improving the livelihoods of our marine life and local fishers. We’re committed to continuing our work to achieve this ambitious goal and make a real difference for the future of our oceans.
